Designed by Manon du Merle for the Moire collection.

What the light reveals here is as much a phenomenon as a pattern: layers of pale pink wool interwoven with bamboo silk veins, a denser filament that captures light differently and, depending on the viewing angle, creates a network of golden currents within the pink mass.
The moiré effect is not just drawn; it is inherent in the material. Two fibers, same height, opposite behaviors towards light. Agata changes morning and evening, depending on whether you cross it or walk alongside it. The reference is mineral: these pink agates with golden inclusions that are sliced open to reveal their contents. A rug that seems to have been discovered rather than designed.

Technique
Hand-tufted rug in New Zealand wool. The surface is cut to a uniform height of 10 mm across the entire rug, with no relief or carving. Some areas are tufted in botanical silk (Tencel), providing a slight natural sheen, while the rest of the rug is made of New Zealand wool, with a matte and dense finish. Cotton backing. Edges tufted up to the border, cut flush for a precise and contemporary silhouette.

Information about the rug

Hand-tufted rug from Bhadohi, North India. Medium density: approximately 4.6 kg of wool per m², ensuring a generous, dense, and durable material. This rug offers a soft, very thick, and comfortable feel.

Each piece is handcrafted. Slight variations may occur and contribute to the unique character of each rug.

Sample

Receive a sample to appreciate the color, texture, and relief of the rug before ordering a large format.

Size: 20 × 20 cm. Made in the same finish and with the same materials as the final rug.

As screens can alter color perception, the sample allows you to precisely validate the shade and density of the wool in your interior.

A 20 € voucher is offered for any sample ordered, fully deductible from your future order.

Maintenance tips

A Rugier rug is a living textile piece, hand-tufted in dense wool.
With simple and regular care, it will maintain its texture and the depth of its colors for many years.

Vacuum 1 to 2 times a week with a smooth nozzle, without a rotating brush.
A slight loss of fibers may occur at the beginning: this is natural and will diminish over time.
In case of a stain, dab immediately without rubbing and avoid harsh products.
Cut protruding threads; never pull them.

Professional cleaning is recommended every 3 to 4 years.

The rug wasn't in stock when I ordered, so there was about a six week wait. The team kept me updated throughout, which made the wait easy to manage. Worth it in the end. The quality justifies the timeline.

Abigail M. London

Charlotte d C., Paris

Ordered after receiving a sample. The wool is dense, the colors more vivid in person, the carving detail precise. It anchors the room without dominating it. Packaging was handled with care.

Emma W. Marlow

The depth of color is something the photos don’t fully capture. Rich texture, clean finish, and careful packaging. The room feels different with it. Excellent communication throughout.

James H. Chipping Norton

Pilar O. Madrid

The sample system made the decision easy. The Felix arrived in perfect condition, the graphic pattern is sharp and the wool quality holds up to close inspection. Very nice experience.

Sarah K. London
